Devotional 3: “Equipped for a Purpose”

Devotional 3: “Equipped for a Purpose”
Scripture: 1 Peter 4:10
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Reflection:
For many years, I wasn’t sure what my spiritual gifts were. I had talents, yes. Skills from my career and life experiences. But spiritual gifts? That felt like another category—one I didn’t quite know how to access.
But the more I prayed, studied Scripture, and walked in obedience, the clearer it became: God had already equipped me with everything I needed to fulfill the purpose He designed just for me.
Every believer has been given gifts—tools to build up the Kingdom, bless others, and glorify God. Some gifts are obvious: teaching, leadership, encouragement. Others might be more behind-the-scenes: administration, craftsmanship, discernment. None are more valuable than the others—they all matter deeply in God’s plan.
What’s incredible is that your spiritual gifts align with the story God is writing in your life. Your experiences, even the painful ones, are not wasted. God redeems them and uses them to shape how your gifts are expressed.
I discovered mine—gifts like leadership, teaching, faith, discernment, and encouragement—through prayer, trial, error, and obedience. It wasn’t overnight. But once I stepped into them, my life shifted. I no longer wandered—I walked in purpose.
So if you’re wondering, “What has God given me?”, start here: Ask Him. Then look at where you feel most alive when serving others. Your gift is not about spotlight—it’s about stewardship.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the unique gifts You’ve placed within me. Show me how to use them to serve others and bring glory to You. Help me recognize the areas where You’ve equipped me, and give me the courage to step fully into Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
